Day 1
Airport – Negombo

You arrive at Bandaranaike airport, where our representative will welcome you and give you the travelling documents. Transfer to your hotel at Negombo beach, 20 mins drive away from the airport. Relax in the sun, go for a nice swim and enjoy a walk on the beach, one of the largest in Sri Lanka. Return to your hotel for dinner and to relax for the night.

Day 2
Negombo – Anuradhapura

Early morning, your tour starts with the cultural triangle, and the ancient city of Anuradhapura. This was the first capital of Sri Lanka, and you will see the royal ruins covering an area of 50 sq km, the numerous Buddhist temples still in use today and the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree, one of the oldest trees in the world. Your guide will show you the most beautiful dagobas and tell you how this city prospered for more than 10 centuries. Check in at your hotel and enjoy some free time.

Dambulla Golden Temple

Day 3

You drive towards the center of the country, to visit Dambulla which is a UNESCO world heritage site. On top of a hill, this site is made out of five caves, all painted and decorated by Buddha statues. The caves are old Buddhists monasteries that have been there for thousands of years and are world famous. You can also enjoy an amazing view on the surroundings. Transfer to your hotel. Relax and overnight.

Day 4

Early morning, visit Sigiriya rock. It will take about 2.5hours to discover the gardens and caves, and to climb up the 200 meter high rock. Half way up the rock, in a cave shelter, your guide will show you the famous 1500 year old frescoes believed to depict King Kasyapa’s concubines. Once you reach the top of the rock fortress, you will see the ancient palace ruins and enjoy an amazing view of the surroundings. Ranked as a UNESCO site, Sigiriya is the most visited cultural site in Sri Lanka. Proceed to Habarana for a village lunch, ride to a local village home on a bullock cart across the paddy fields. Enjoy a rice & curry meal and discover the village way of cooking. The afternoon is dedicated to Polonnaruwa visit, which was the island capital during 11th and 12th centuries. Discover the area by bicycle or by car, from Hindu temples to palace ruins. The main attraction is Gal Vihara, a group of 4 Buddhas carved in granite stone. The archeological museum is very interesting. Back to your hotel and have dinner.

Day 5
Sigiriya – Knuckles Range

Today, take your time! You drive towards the Knuckles range, a mountaineous area scattered by tea plantations. On your drive enjoy the very beautiful scenery that you will pass. Arrival to your luxury homestay and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon you visit a tea factory and have a walk in a tea plantation and watch how tea-pluckers pluck the tea leaves. After dinner, relax on the terrace under moonlight, and overnight.

Day 6
Knuckles Range – Kandy

Drive towards Kandy, the last royal capital of the island. Go for a city tour, starting with the Temple of the Tooth, a holy Buddhist temple located in the royal palace complex which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. Afterwards, take a small boat ride on the lake (optional). Then discover the vegetable market nearby, very lively and sometimes full of pushy sellers, but the diversity of products and the atmosphere still worth the detour. Transfer to your hotel in the afternoon and relax. In the evening, meet with a wedding planner who will explain how a successful wedding is organized in Sri Lanka!

Peradeniya Botanical Garden

Day 7

Visit of the botanical garden of Peradeniya, covering over 150 acres along Mahaweli river. Must-see: the royal palm trees path, cannonballs trees, the orchids collection and multicolored flowerbeds… A walk in this garden cannot be missed! In the afternoon, you will meet with elephants, the ultimate Sri Lankan animal. You arrive at the Millennium Elephant Foundation and make a quick visit of their local museum before going on an elephant’s back ride. The experience usually ends up in the river with the elephant. Transfer to the hotel and dinner.

Day 8
Kandy – Ella

You go for a train ride and discover the beautiful landscapes of the hill country. Pass through high mountain tunnels, green fields and beautiful green trees that are all over the area. Your driver meets you on the way and drive you to Haputale, where you will visit a tea factory. Then you go to Lipton’s seat, where the British lord used to sit and contemplate his plantations. Transfer to your hotel in Ella and enjoy an Ayurvedic massage at the end of the day (optional).

Day 9
Ella – Udawalawe

Before breakfast, have a walk to Little Adam’s peak, from where you will have a nice view of the mountains all around and see the beautiful valley below with its green paddy fields and streams. Then proceed to Udawalawe national park. Afternoon jeep safari through the park known for its elephant population and its abundance of birds. A naturalist guide will come with you to help you spot the animals in the underbrush and give you all the explanations needed. Check in to hotel.

Day 10
Udawalawe – Galle

After breakfast, you proceed to the South coast. Very popular amongst tourists, the area is very diverse with plenty of beaches, such as Mirissa beach. We propose a romantic lunch on the beach. In the afternoon, visit Galle Fort and stroll through the lanes full of shops, designers boutiques, jeweleries … Dinner at the hotel.

Western Sri Lanka Capital Colombo

Day 11
Galle – Colombo

You proceed to Colombo, the economic capital of Sri Lanka. On the way, enjoy the incredible views on the coastline. If you like, meet with a Buddhist priest – astrologer who will read your hand. Halfway, you stop to visit the “brief-garden”, designed by Bevis Bawa ― the elder brother of the famous architect Geoffrey Bawa. Lunch. City tour with your driver to discover Colombo fort and Pettah areas, and have a walk on Galle face green. In the afternoon, meet with an astrologer specialized in gemology, who will tell you about his work and which stone you should wear according to your astrological sign. Then visit a jeweler. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Colombo – Maldives

Early morning, transfer to the airport and fly to Malé, Maldives, this tiny country of atolls and islands is paradise in the Indian Ocean and is one place in the world which is more sea than land. Our representative will welcome you and take you to the transfer point. Transfer to hotel by speedboat. Enjoy the ride to your hotel and admire the clear blue water and colorful landscape. Check into your hotel and relax.

The Maldives is famous for its rare underwater beauty so you can see the passing fish as close as a meter’s away with clear water, and thousands of beautiful colors of coral reefs are seen under water very clearly.
