Day 1
Arrival – Colombo Airport – Galle

You will be greeted by your driver upon arrival at the Bandaranayke International Airport. Then you’ll be driven to Galle on the southern expressway, Sri Lanka’s first. Galle is a UNESCO-designated town on the island’s south coast with lovely beaches and historical sites from the colonial era. Visit the charming Galle Fort to enjoy relaxing walks on narrow streets lined with cafés and boutique stores. Transfer to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2
Galle – Yala

After breakfast, head towards the Yatagala village in the Galle region for a traditional Sri Lankan cooking class. You can learn the secrets of Sri Lankan cuisine and prepare delicious curries on your own! Enjoy the labors of your cooking class for lunch. Afterwards, hit the road towards Yala National Park, one of the best national parks in Asia. On your way you can visit the popular Kataragama temple if you like. Transfer to your hotel in Yala for overnight.

Day 3

Embark on your exciting jeep safari at Yala early morning. You will be accompanied by a local wildlife guide. Yala is huge so you’ll have a good chance to spot elephants, leopards, crocodiles, bears, mongoose, monkeys, spotted deer and many birds. You have the best chance of seeing animals at watering holes in the mornings and late afternoons when it’s not as hot. Enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Day 4
Yala – Haputale

Drive from Yala towards the central Hill Country of the island, well known for its scenic beauty. Along the way, stop by the town of Haputale to enjoy breathtaking views of the valley below. Then your driver will take you to visit a tea factory and Lipton’s seat, where the tea baron Sir Thomas Lipton used to sit and contemplate. Enjoy the trek back down through lush tea plantations. You’ll be then driven to your hotel surrounded by verdant mountains for dinner and overnight.

Day 5
Haputale – Ella – Haputale

Drive to scenic Ella for breakfast. You can also make this trip by train (not included in our price). Your driver will welcome you at the station and take you to lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the majestic Ravana Ella waterfall and tour Little Adam’s Peak that offers a beautiful view of the surroundings. Return to your hotel for overnight.

Day 6
Ella – Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, head off towards Nuwara Eliya on winding roads. On your way, visit a tea factory and learn all about how famous Ceylon tea is processed. Transfer to your hotel once you arrive in Nuwara Eliya. Tour the town and discover the charming colonial British architecture.

Day 7
Nuwara Eliya – Kandy

Enjoy breakfast and some leisure time before you hit the road to Kandy, the last royal kingdom of Sri Lanka. Discover this historic city on foot, starting from the sacred Temple of the Tooth, believed to house a tooth relic of the Buddha. Then take a relaxing stroll around the Kandy Lake. In the late afternoon, be treated to a lovely Kandyan dance performance. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Peradeniya Botanical Garden

Day 8

In the morning visit the beautiful Peradeniya Botanical gardens filled with royal palms and colorful beds of roses, orchids and more indigenous and imported plants. In the afternoon, visit the Millennium Elephant Foundation to spend the day with elephants! Go on a quick tour of their museum and then ride an elephant without a seat! This experience usually ends in a river with the elephant. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9
Kandy – Negombo

Drive to the beach town of Negombo. Transfer to your hotel and relax. You can spend the rest of the day enjoying the golden beach. Optional activities include many watersports and a boat ride on the lagoon.

Negombo – Koh Samui (flight to Bangkok and connecting to Koh Samui)

Drive to the Bandaranayke International Airport in the morning in time to catch your flight to Bangkok (flying time is about 3 hours and 30 minutes). Once you arrive, take a short domestic flight to Koh Samui. Transfer to your hotel and relax.

Koh Samui

Spend the day enjoying the white-sand beaches, secluded coves and many charming village temples surrounding your seafront resort.

Koh Samui
