Day 1
Arrival – Colombo Airport – Habarana

You will be received by our representative upon arrival at the airport, who will drive you to Habarana, a beautiful city close to the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka. On your drive enjoy the stunning scenery of verdant paddy fields and panoramic mountain ranges. Transfer to your hotel in Habarana. Afterwards, take a tour around the small city to see elephants and other exotic animals. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 2
Habarana – Sigiriya rock – Ritigala

Early morning go on an exciting tour of the legendary Sigiriya rock fortress, an ancient royal abode carved into solid rock sometimes called the “eighth wonder of the world.” Tour the fascinating frescoes and gardens with natural caves of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, and climb to the top to marvel at the ruins of the former royal palace. Later in the afternoon, visit the nature reserve at Ritigala, home to a centuries-old Buddhist monastery. These ruins are situated in the middle of lush jungle making the ride particularly pleasant and enjoyable. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 3
Habarana – Madulkelle

Following a delicious breakfast, drive south through the stunning Knuckles Range to Madulkelle. Transfer to hotel and relax enjoying the breathtaking scenery. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4

In the morning, take a hypnotizing walk through the lush tea plantations and possibly meet the dexterous tea puckers. You can go trekking or participate in other adventurous activities offered at your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the “Children Club” Association and discover the extraordinary work volunteers do for the community. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5
Madulkelle – Ella (2h30 road and 2h30 rail)

Depart to Nuwara Eliya, the highest town in Sri Lanka and known as the island’s “vegetable garden.” This scenic town is graced with cool temperatures and is extremely popular during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year in April. On your way, visit the giant Kothmale water reservoir and the stunning Ramboda waterfall. Then arrive at the charming town of Nuwara Eliya. Take a refreshing walk in the Victoria Park or around Lake Gregory. Afterwards, visit a tea factory where your expert guide will explain the stages of processing tea from the maturation of tea leaves to harvest. Take another refreshing walk through the tea plantations enjoying the scenery. Then continue your drive towards the interior of the Hill Country. If you prefer, you can make this trip by train (not included in the tour package). Arrive at Ella and transfer to your hotel for free time and overnight.

Day 6
Ella – Bandarawela – Haputale – Ella

Take a revitalizing early morning stroll to Little Adam’s Peak, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain ranges. Afterwards, accompany your culinary guide, Deen, to his house where he and his wife will prepare you a delicious Sri Lankan lunch. Tour the area after lunch and discover the breathtaking panorama of the Haputale valley below. Then you will be chauffeured to Lipton’s Seat, where Scottish tea baron Sir Thomas Lipton used to relax. Walk back down enjoying the scenery. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 7
Ella – Gal Oya

Drive to the Gal Oya National Park for one night of exciting camping. Gal Oya, a precious eco spot hardly frequented by tourists, is known for its herds of elephants visible throughout the year. Part of the safari can be completed by boat. Enjoy overnight at camp.

Day 8
Gal Oya – Udawalawe National Park

Hit the road towards the south coast of the country to the Udawalawe National Park, known as one of Asia’s best safari destinations. Go on a thrilling jeep safari at Udawalawe in the afternoon and enjoy herds of elephants, monkeys, leopards, water buffalo, peacocks and many other exotic animals and birds. Return to hotel for resting and overnight.

Udawalawe National Park – Colombo Airport

Drive to Colombo, the largest metropolis in the country. Explore this vibrant and historic seaport and discover the colonial marvels, the Colombo Fort and the popular promenade Galle Face Green. Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport in the late afternoon for your flight back home. End of our services.
